The PM1653 has been optimized for high-performance enterprise servers, providing high random read speeds (a key indicator of server storage performance) of 800K reads and writes per second (IOPS). Continuous read speeds of up to 4,300 megabits (MB/s) are available on 24G SAS interfaces and twice the speed of previous generation PM1643a drives. With its dual-port system, the new SSDs will give enterprise server OEMs the flexibility to use one or two ports depending on their system environment. Even if one port encounters a failure during operation, data can be transmitted and accessed through another port with excellent enterprise-class reliability. The PM1653 is also capable of supporting 24G and legacy 12G SAS-3 platforms.
